Keep Workflow

The Keep workflow is for photos you want to send to a photo editor or preserve for post-processing.

Basic Setup

  1. Open Settings and go to Post-Processing.
  2. Turn on Enable Post-Processing Workflow.
  3. Set Photo Editor to your preferred editor app.

The Workflow Process

  1. Move to Keep: Move a photo to the Keep section (using the K shortcut or drag-and-drop).
  2. Automatic Handoff: The app prepares the file for editing and automatically launches the configured photo editor.
  3. Post-Editing Detection: After editing, the app detects changes and offers rename options when applicable.

Rename Templates

The rename templates use these placeholders:

PlaceholderMeaning
${baseName}Filename without extension
${extension}File extension
${timestamp}Timestamp value supplied by the app

Default templates:

  • SOOC: ${baseName} (SOOC).${extension}
  • Modified: ${baseName} (Modified).${extension}

Advanced Features

HEIC and Live Photo Handling

When you move a HEIC or HEIF photo to Keep with post-processing enabled, the app automatically converts it to a JPG for editing while preserving the original source file. If a companion MOV file exists, it is handled as part of the same workflow.

Sony ARW and JPG Pairing

If a JPG has a matching Sony ARW file:

  • Moving JPG to Keep: The JPG goes to Keep for editing/preservation, while the ARW companion is preserved separately.
  • Moving out of Keep: When moving the JPG out of Keep, the app can restore the paired original.

Restoring Photos from Keep

If a file in Keep is no longer desired:

  1. Select the Keep photo.
  2. Press the destination shortcut (e.g., T for Todo or R for Reject).
  3. The app restores the paired original when one exists and moves the Keep file to the chosen section.
